What is the Engineering Design Show?
This world-class Engineering Design Show is the flagship event of the School of Engineering and the high-point of our degree programmes. It provides an opportunity to see firsthand how our students excel in designing, building and testing new products, structures and solutions for the real world. Students also compete within the event for industry-sponsored prizes.

The event is open to the public and a great opportunity to see some cutting-edge tech in action and meet some of our up and coming engineering talent doing what they do best - creating and innovating to solve real-life problems.
See Waikato EDS on Facebook
We invite students from years 11-13 and their teachers to attend the Waikato Engineering Design Show. Free to schools, this is an opportunity to see our civil students compete to test the strength of the bridges they have designed and built, see our chemical engineering students race chemical-powered cars and our mechanical engineering students go head-to-head, programming their autonomous vehicles around a set course. Students can expect a welcome session to Engineering + an interactive workshop, a whistle stop tour of the campus, time peruse and chat with our final year students and lunch at the campus halls of residence.
