The annual Waikato Engineering Design Show is the high point of our internationally accredited, professional engineering degree programmes. Each year, our students excel in designing, building and testing new products, structures and solutions in response to real-world problems, both in New Zealand and overseas. Waikato now proudly boasts a full complement of professional engineering degree programmes, offering an excellent choice for students across New Zealand eager to pursue a career in this exciting and growing industry. Having come from two of the oldest universities in the world (Oxford University and Trinity College Dublin), I can testify that the Waikato School of Engineering encapsulates all of the benefits of being comprehensive, with no silos. This allows all of our professional staff to be part of the same team and vision that enables them to share their ideas openly in a friendly, collegial environment. Our students also benefit reap the benefits of this and are guided and inspired by many world-leading experts in areas ranging from earthquake engineering, time-of-flight image processing, robotics, sustainable energy solutions, biopolymers, titanium based lightweight metal alloys and 3D printing. All of these achievements are underpinned by Engineering NZ accreditation of our degree programmes, demonstrating we are well-placed to nurture young adults on the pathway to a professional career in Engineering.
I hope you enjoy the Engineering Design Show as much as the students enjoy making it happen.
